STORY OUTLINE
William Trembath enlisted at Mossman and became a Trooper in the 5th Light Horse.
He received a shrapnel wound to his right knee at Gallipoli on 27 June 1915.
He was transferred to hospital in England in October. After wounding, he was only fit for home service or light duty and walked with a limp.
He was finally sent home in May 1916.
His brother James Henry (Harry) Trembath was the head teacher at Mossman State School from 1912 to 1915.
