STORY OUTLINE
Harry Tyson Pringle was raised on the Pringle cane farm at Shannonvale, Mossman.
He enlisted at Port Douglas in January 1915 at age 25, a month after his brother Thomas Lynch.
He served as a Trooper with the Light Horse in Egypt before moving on to the Western Front with the 17th Australian Army Service Corps.
On returning to Australia in March 1919, he returned to the family farm. The Northern Herald, 30 July 1919, noted Harry's return to Mossman
"The latest soldier to return home here is Harry Pringle, who looks fit and well after his encounter with the enemy during the late war".
Harry died in 1973, aged 83 and is buried in the Mossman cemetery.
