STORY OUTLINE
Although, Albert Pridmore was born in Normanton and enlisted at Townsville, an A Pridmore is listed on the Douglas Shire Honour Board and is included in a list of soldiers returning to Mossman (Northern Herald, 16 May 1918). We believe this is he.
Albert Pridmore was a Private with the 49th Battalion on the Western Front but contracted severe rheumatic fever and was hospitalised in France and England.
Private Pridmore returned to Australia in March 1918 and was discharged 25 April 1918. A notation on his records indicates that he died in 1955.
