STORY OUTLINE

This man is listed on the Douglas Honour Roll as E. H Kidd but is probably Ernest William Kidd, whose address on enlistment was Mossman. He was a ploughman.

His parents were William and Isabella Kidd but he left his effects to his Aunt Sarah Kidd in Bundaberg. She received his Victory Medal after he was killed in action in April 1918.

He was buried in Jerusalem War Cemetery. His aunt offered to contribute financially to the upkeep of his grave but was told to write to the Imperial War Graves Commission in London "to subscribe to work in general".
