STORY OUTLINE
Lewis Charles Cuddy, brother of Fraser Harold Cudday (also recorded as a Douglas Digger), was born in Port Douglas and enlisted at Townsville in October 1915. He was appointed to the 41st Battalion serving in France and attained the rank of Sergeant. He was twice wounded and was awarded the Military Medal for gallantry in the field. On return to Australia, he lived in Brisbane.
