STORY OUTLINE

George Moody, a carter, enlisted in Cairns on 22/04/16, though his address was in Mossman. He left Australia on 20/10/16, trained in England, and went to France on 7/09/17.

Wounded in action on 29/09/18, he was in hospital before returning to Australia on 20/12/18, and was discharged "invalid" on 19/03/19. He died in a State Hospital and Home in Lidcombe in 1950, and the Victory Medal in his possession was sent to his daughter, Mrs Hart, of Cairns, in 1952.
