STORY OUTLINE

Francis McNamara was a 24 yr old locomotive driver living at Wolfram when he enlisted at Mossman on 10/11/14.

He joined the 5th Light Horse on 16/05/15 and fought at Gallipoli. A self-inflicted gunshot wound on 24/08/15 sent him to hospital in England, where he remained during 1916 with illnesses.

He was sent to Egypt on 10/01/17, and embarked for Australia at Suez on 23/12/18.

He was discharged on 16/04/19.
