STORY OUTLINE
Edward George Goddard embarked per HMAT Demosthenes A64 on 23-12-1916 at Sydney and disembarked at Plymouth England on 3-03-1917 and marched in to the 8th Training Battalion at Hurdcott Salisbury, England In September 1917 he marched in to the 2nd Command Depot at Parkhouse nearby and was assessed as having a tendency to bronchitis and at his age 'not likely to stand the coming winter'.
As a result he was sent home to Australia per HT Port Lyttleton 19-10-1917 and disembarked on 5-12-1917.
