STORY OUTLINE

Arthur Freemantle was born in Lincoln, England but enlisted at Cairns on 25 March 1916. He was a labourer, with address given as Mossman. Assigned to the 41st Battalion, he fought on the Western Front but on 23 June 1917 he received a severe shot wound to the head; he died on 25 June.
