STORY OUTLINE

George Rupert Childs was born at Grafton NSW and enlisted, May 1915, at Enoggera Brisbane, where he trained. He embarked at Brisbane for Gallipoli in August 1915 with the 26th Battalion. He then served in France and returned to Australia after the war, disembarking in May 1919. Although G R Childs is listed on the Shire Honour Board, and George Rupert is the only GR we can find, we have not found how he is linked to Douglas district. Can you help?
