STORY OUTLINE
Norman Baird was certified on the Rifle Range in Brisbane and after traveling by troop train to Sydney to embark on HMAT Euripides A14 on 31/10/1917 he arrived at Devonport England on 26/12/17. He proceeded overseas to France on 1/4/1918 where he was taken on strength with the 15th Infantry Battalion. By August he was suffering inflamed knee joints and was attached to the 3rd Squadron Australian Flying Corps as a Batman and after another spell in hospital in Rouen France he was transferred to the Australian Army Veterinary Hospital at Le Havre in early November 1918. Embarked 19/04/1919 from England on HMAT Sardinia and arrived in Australia on 11/06/1919 and discharged on 8/06/19.
