STORY OUTLINE
Peter Meldrum enlisted at Port Douglas at age 38. He was based with the 15th Battalion and embarked from Brisbane in April 1915. His front line service was heavily curtailed by illness and by periods of AWL that incurred detention.
Nevertheless his service was rewarded with the three medals, the 1914/15 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal.
