STORY OUTLINE

Andrew Howard Jack was born in Port Douglas and enlisted in Townsville on 31/01/1916. (He was the eldest son of Andrew Jack of Killaloe, one of two people killed in the devastating cyclone of 1911).

He embarked for overseas on H.M.T."Borda" on 13/07/1917. He was in hospital a few times. On the 16th of December 1916 it was for inflamed feet then on the 22nd of December he was sick in the field. On the 22/01/1917 he rejoined his unit but on the 23/02/1917 he was wounded in action then rejoined his unit agaln on the 8/07/1917.

Unfortunately on the 12/10/1917 he was killed in action "in the field" in Belgium.
