STORY OUTLINE

Labourer, Charles Olef Anderson, born in Townsville, enlisted in Cairns on 2-03-16. At first a private with the 31st Battalion, he later became a signaller with the 32nd Battalion in France. Initially in Egypt, he took sick and sailed to England on 7-07-16. On recovery he was trained, and went to France on 4-02-17 then was again seriously ill in May 1917. He began signals training on 18-04-18, going back to France on 13-09-18. From 10-06-19 to 10-09-19 he trained as a motor mechanic in England and returned to Australia immediately afterwards.
